AGENDA
======

Introductions:  9:30

Time to share a little bit about yourself, and what's going on in
your life, your community, or with groups you work with. Short
announcements of events or actions are welcome!

Maine Equal Justice Updates: 10:15

Maine Equal Justice will update us on any state or federal public
policy issue that they are working on. We'll also talk about the
issues we'll be working on when the Legislature is back in session in
January:
.	Fighting proposed cuts to MaineCare;
.	Finding ways to increase access to education and training for
low-wage workers;
.	Supporting L.D. 1454 to make sure workers have paid sick leave;
.	Looking for a stable funding source for Dirigo Health;
.	Making sure that people with low income are treated fairly in
any tax-reform proposals;
.	LD 1110 a bill to create the Maine Council on Poverty and
Economic Security.

MAIN Leadership Team Report:  11:15

1.	MAIN Fall Conference: Report on the success of the
conference; feedback from evaluations; what do we do to help our
members use the tools learned at the Conference during the next
Legislative session that starts January 6th. What can MAIN do to
prepare for the Legislative session?

2.	MAIN funding: What are MAIN's budget needs? Where do we get
our money? How can we meet our financial needs?

3.	Poverty Symposium - We'll hear from folks who attended the
Nov. 5th Symposium. We'll discuss MAIN's role to help create the
Maine Council on Poverty and Economic Security (L.D. 1110), and to
gain economic human rights for all which will mean an end to poverty.
Economic human rights include the right of all people to housing,
health care, food, jobs, education and the pursuit of happiness.
Come to share your ideas!

care survey proposed by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Other - If you have something you want to talk about, and you know it
will take more than 5 minutes, please contact a MAIN leader to see if
we'll have time to add it to this month's agenda.
