<div>Closing arguments will begin tomorrow in the case of six members
of Maine's Civil Disobedience and Occupation Project, Wednesday,
at 9:00 a.m. the Penobscot Superior Court on Hammon Street. Come show
your support for these courageous activists. The courtroom was
packed today, but we can take turns in the courtroom, if needed.

<div><font face="Arial" size="-1" color="#000000">The six people are
charged with "criminal trespass" for refusing to leave the
office of U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) on March 7,
2007, four years after the US invasion of Iraq.</font></div>
<div><font face="Arial" size="-1" color="#000000"> </font></div>
<div>Today, all defendants spoke movingly and eloquently about their
action in support of international law which outlaws pre-emptive war
and the need to defend the constitution. Dud Hendrick said
they were there to "intercede against a greater crime in an act
of civil resistance, not civil disobedience".</div>

<div><font face="Arial" size="-1" color="#000000"> Doug Rawling
was defended in court by attorney Phil Worden; Jonathan
Kreps and Henry Braun were defended by attorney Lynne
Williams. Defendants Robert Shetterly, Dud Henrick, and Jim Freeman
defended themselves.</font></div>
