The Office & Volunteer Coordinator job description as it currently exists is
as follows (and could possibly be revised somewhat during the upcoming
search process):



Office & Volunteer Coordinator

(April-07)



General Description:

The Office & Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for front office/lobby
operations, internal station communications processes, clerical support and
general volunteer recruitment, coordination and support.



Reports to: General Manager



Key Collaborators:

Other paid staff and committee chairs.



Specific Duties:

§          Provide administrative, clerical and communication support for
other staff and committee chairs.  Serve as front office/lobby receptionist
(receive and direct or respond to general phone calls, email, mail and
visitors).  Manage station postal and shipping operations.

§          Coordinate Public Service Announcement (PSA)/Community Calendar
intake and posting (primarily through station web site).

§          Coordinate general volunteer recruitment, training, placement,
coordination and support.  Collaborate with other staff and committee chairs
to maintain sufficient volunteer corps to meet station goals and objectives,
especially in non-broadcast areas.  Manage volunteer contact database,
listserv, mailboxes, volunteer newsletter and other in-house communications
tools.

§          Coordinate maintenance of office systems such as computers,
computer network and phone system.  Maintain inventory of office supplies.

§          Coordinate maintenance of station building and grounds.  Maintain
appearance of the front office/lobby and station meeting spaces and
coordinate cleaning services.  Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies.

§          Serve as administrative assistant to the General Manager.  Duties
include but are not limited to screening phone calls and mail, scheduling
meetings and appointments, reproducing reports, filing and taking minutes at
meetings.

§          Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager.



Required Skills:

§         Strong written and spoken communication abilities

§         Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

§         Computer proficiency, including but not limited to MS Office, ,
administrative and organizational software

§         Strong organizational abilities and self-direction

§         Ability to supervise, coordinate and support volunteers

§         Ability to multi-task in a fast-pasted work environment, with
occasionally irregular work hours



Compensation:

§         Salary: $25,000 - $30,000 (starting)

§         Benefits: Health Insurance, Vacation, Personal/Sick Leave,
Holidays and Flexible Work Schedule

§         Work Hours: 40 per week

WERU-FM Community Radio (89.9 Blue Hill/102.9 Bangor) has an opening for the
full-time (40 hours/week) salaried position of Office & Volunteer
Coordinator.  Responsibilities: manage front office operations and general
public reception; provide communications, logistics and clerical support for
the organization.  Recruit, train, coordinate and support volunteers.
Assist with coordination of station events and activities.  Required skills:
intermediate computer skills, including email, databases, spreadsheets and
mail merges; good communication skills, verbal and written; organized and
works efficiently, meets and exceeds deadlines, pays attention to detail, is
pro-active and has ability to multi-task and guide other people in
fast-paced setting; volunteer experience in nonprofit setting a plus.
Compensation: $25,000-30,000 starting pay, vacation, personal/sick leave and
health insurance.



Development Assistant:

WERU-FM has an opening for the part-time position of Development Assistant.
Assists Development Director in all efforts of annual giving, membership,
outreach and capital campaign initiatives to help ensure annual fundraising
goals are met.  Provides general and clerical assistance in a timely,
efficient manner, and meets deadlines as determined by supervisor.
Specific duties may include all phases of donor mailings, emailing and phone
correspondence; updating donor database and assisting with fundraising
events.  Required skills: intermediate computer skills, including email,
databases, spreadsheets and mail merges; good communication skills, verbal
and written; organized and works efficiently, meets and exceeds deadlines,
pays attention to detail and is pro-active.  Hours & Compensation: 10-15
hours per week, flexible schedule for April – July, $10 per hour.
