Closing arguments will begin tomorrow in the case of six members of
Maine's Civil Disobedience and Occupation Project, Wednesday, at
9:00 a.m. the Penobscot Superior Court on Hammon Street. Come show
your support for these courageous activists. The courtroom was
packed today, but we can take turns in the courtroom, if needed.

The six people are charged with "criminal trespass" for refusing to
leave the office of U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) on March 7,
2007, four years after the US invasion of Iraq.

Today, all defendants spoke movingly and eloquently about their
action in support of international law which outlaws pre-emptive war
and the need to defend the constitution. Dud Hendrick said they
were there to "intercede against a greater crime in an act of civil
resistance, not civil disobedience".

  Doug Rawling was  defended in court by attorney Phil Worden;
Jonathan Kreps and Henry Braun were defended by attorney Lynne
Williams. Defendants Robert Shetterly, Dud Henrick, and Jim Freeman
defended  themselves.
